Prologue: In a time long since past, the world was engulfed in darkness. These are known as the Dark Ages to us because of the torture and persecution humanity had to suffer. Things were becoming evil. Greed and chaos consumed the land. Behind all this was a group of things. We call them things because no one knows whether they were humans or possibly something else in the shape of humans. All we know is that they were behind all this. They didn’t cause all this alone, for they commanded an army consisting of mysterious and unknown creatures. These creatures were never seen before by any man and were very deadly. Where ever they went they filled dread and despair into the hearts of men and women. They had no certain forms but were mere shadows. Hence by using this terrible army the group succeeded in covering the world in darkness. This group called themselves the ‘Order of Darkness’ and they were in control.
But a light shined from within the depths of darkness and another group arose to face the Order of Darkness. They called themselves the ‘Order of Light’ and fought against the other Order.
However they to were not alone, for they also commanded a mysterious army. But unlike the other creatures these filled the hearts of men with hope and peace and were surrounded by a strange light so there true forms were impossible to tell.
The two opposing orders waged war after war with one another and as a result of these fierce battles humanity began to crumble.
But suddenly the leaders of these two orders disappeared. The remaining members of each order ceased the war and set out to find their leaders. They too slowly disappeared along with their armies giving mankind a new hope. They started a new life in peace and harmony hoping that the Order of Darkness would never return. But little did they know it would all begin again…

Ren just lay there on his bed staring towards the ceiling, wide awake. After a while he sat straight up. He observed his little house and found everything as it was. The dirty kitchen table, his study table covered with old scrolls. He looked pitifully at his little home, just one room. One room contained every thing he owned. A kitchen, bedroom, his study and a little space where he liked to practice his sword skills. Everything spread out towards the four corners of his room. Ren got up and started to walk towards a cracked mirror one of his walls near his study table. He observed himself thoroughly. His short red hair and clear blue eyes was reflected back towards him. He was wearing what he always wore, a mossy green shirt and a pair of grey jeans. Suddenly something caught his eye. Engraved on Ren’s left arm was the symbol of the sun. He stared at it with disbelief and ran towards the bathroom. He tried every possible way to remove the mark but it wouldn’t budge.
“Ok, it’s just some stupid mark.” Ren told himself as he came out of the bathroom all wet and furious. He sat on the kitchen table and stared at the mark. Ren tried to calm down and think of an explanation of why this irremovable mark had suddenly appeared on his arm. “It wasn’t here before.” He mumbled to himself
Just than an idea struck him and he got up quickly. Old Man Tenaha would know what to do, Ren thought. After all he was the smartest person in this village; he would know what to do. Ren grabbed his jacket and took a deep breath before turning the door knob and going to the world outside. He stood outside his house and witnessed a beautiful day in a long time. Ren’s town was called Shira village. It was nestled between hills in a valley. Four large hills surrounded their small village. Ren looked towards the bright sun at first and then towards his village. He saw two small girls playing on the grass and it reminded him of his lonely childhood. Ren was 16 years old and worked in blacksmith shop. He was an orphan as his parents died from a disease and so he was forced to support himself. Almost every body in his village had small house like Ren’s. They were simple hard working people. Ren made his way towards the centre of the village where Old Man Tenaha’s house was. Upon reaching his house Ren realized for the first time how large it was. It was indeed larger than any house in the village.
Ren knocked at the old mans door and after a few minutes the door opened and old man Tenaha stood before him. He was bald and had a huge beard and moustache. He was shorter than Ren and had brown eyes. His wrinkled face showed wisdom as did his choice of traditional clothing.
“Good to see you Ren!” The old man exclaimed. “Hello sir.” Ren replied as he stood their looking at the green grass. “Please step in.” Tenaha said and he showed Ren the way towards his sitting room. Upon sitting down, Ren observed the old mans room and found that every inch of the wall was covered with old paintings and an open window showed him the view of the distant hills. The old man sat next to Ren.
“Good to see you have grown.” Tenaha said. “umm thank you sir.” Ren said with a sad voice. “What’s troubling you?” Tenaha asked. Ren hesitated before showing the old man his mark. Tenaha’s eyes widened in shock…. |
